About the President/Artist

Susan DeMuth has 24 years experience creating designs for Shapes, Etc.  She has a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Syracuse University where she majored in Fiber Arts.  What she really learned was creative problem solving!

Susan is a self-taught graphic artist and a busy working mother of three.  Her interest in education came from helping her mother, a 30-year veteran early childhood teacher.  Susan observed the countless evening hours her mother spent preparing for the next day's lessons.  In high school, Susan made books with kids.  When she came home from college she went into school to do papermaking, spinning, weaving and more book making. 

Susan loves to quilt, sew, watercolor, knit, make button necklaces and do beadwork.  She likes learning new things and teaching others.  Writing "how-to" ideas has become a passion, as well as a way to share her ideas with other creative people.
